Starlink is one of the easiest things to keep online in an outage - and one of the most valuable, since it works when cable and cell towers are down. A standard Gen 3 dish averages 50-75W; the Starlink Mini sips 20-40W. Because it is pure electronics with no compressor or motor, there is no meaningful startup surge, so inverter size is a non-issue - capacity (watt-hours) is all that matters. The one thing that raises draw is cold: the dish self-heats to melt snow, which can briefly push a standard dish toward 150W. Size for that if you are in a winter climate. Pair Starlink with a modest power station and a solar panel and you have indefinite off-grid internet.
